My Story

We are fundraising for Tom Love.

We have been neighbours and friends with the Love family since 2011 and have known Tom since he was a little boy in primary school. We were lucky enough to see him grow up into a wonderful young man who set off on an incredible adventure solo motorbiking his way halfway round the world. Tragically, at the age of just 21, Tom suddenly passed away whilst living and working in the DRC, midway through his adventure from the UK down to South Africa.

Tom was an amazing person who truly lit up a room with his energy and vitality. To honour Tom’s memory, a charity has been set up to support projects he would have really cared about. The Tom Love Trust funds projects that support children and young people in deprived areas of the UK and Africa, (under the umbrella of the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust).

To raise money in Tom’s memory, we will be completing Pedal the Pyrenees, a cycle journey unlike any other, which will challenge us and push us to our limits both mentally and physically. Taking place in September, it involves cycling across the Pyrenees from coast to coast, from Biarritz on the Atlantic coast, to the fishing village of Collioure on the Mediterranean. We will cycle over 710km in 7 days, climbing over 13,750m – one and a half times the height of Everest.

We’re in training and every penny we raise will help motivate us up those mountains. We are covering all costs ourselves, so all funds raised will go directly to Tom’s charity. Please consider sponsoring us – it would mean so much to us and the Love family.

Thank you
