My Story

Last December, 21-year-old Tom Love – who was a school friend of my son Theo as well as a friend of our family – died suddenly of an undetected infectious disease while he was solo motorbiking around Africa. To honour Tom’s memory, a new charity has been set up by his family and close friends (under the umbrella of the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust), to support causes that Tom cared deeply about: improving access to education and healthcare in African countries, and developing the horizons of other young people here in the UK.

To help raise funds in Tom’s memory, this year I’m competing in the Great Northern Run on 10 September, 2023, and would be thrilled if you could sponsor me. Administration of the Tom Love Trust is being covered by his family, so any donations will go 100% to the causes that were dear to Tom’s heart.
